1) Top Cookie Seller: Win a day / weekend event in Boston with a value equal
to (not to exceed) $500.00 Prizes will be age specific. It will be based on
number of cookies sold as of March 15th, 2011..

Prizes: A) First choice of encampment site and dates for 2012. (Oct 2011-June

4) Total Service Units Revenue Incentive: Calculated as of March 15th, 2011
Participants: All service unit must a have service unit cookie managers for
Cookie Sale 2011.
Requirements:
A) Council must achieve a 10% increase over LY boxes sold. Goal is 2,795,000
boxes.
B) If Council meets its goal of 10% and Service Units achieve their goal over
10% there will be a .01cent per box sold incentive for the service unit.
Incentive will be paid by GSEM to the service unit.

Goals will be posted on yahoo group. Updates will be available during the Cookie
Sale and verified after sale closes March 15th, 2011

5) Booth Sales: We are looking for pictures and great ideas that the girl's
have created for booth sales. We would like you to submit your pictures and
stories about your booth sales. We will share this info. with the GSEM
community during the sale. Examples would be: Holiday Gift Giving, Cookies for
Santa, New Year's, Super Bowl Weekend, Sweet Heart Deals for Valentine's Day and
Think Thin Mint for St. Patrick's Day.

The Girl Scout Cookie Activity Pin

All girls who participate in the Girl Scout Cookie Program are eligible to earn the annual Cookie Activity Pin, which recognizes the “5 Skills” learned and practiced along the way. Girls can collect a different color pin each year to recognize growth in these 5 skill areas. After she earns the pin, each girl should be able to discuss how she has accomplished the following:

 

 

1. Goal Setting:

• Set personal learning goals. What do you want to learn this year? What do you want to do better? Share this with at least one other person or your group.

• Set personal sales goals for yourself based on your personal and group goals. Keep a record of your accomplishments each year!

 

2. Decision Making:

• Develop a basic business plan for your cookie sale.

• Work as a team with other Girl Scouts to decide when and where you’ll sell cookies and what you’ll do with the money you earn.

 

3. Money Management:

• Develop a budget for accomplishing at least one of the goals you set in the Goal Setting step. Use this budget to help determine your sales goals.

• Be able to explain how the money earned in the Girl Scout Cookie Program helps you, your group, and your council.

 

4. People skills:

• Practice your “elevator speech” for customers about what you are selling, why you are selling it, and why they should purchase it.

• Make a list of customers you will approach (don’t forget people you sold to last year).

 

5. Business ethics:

• Discuss how living the Girl Scout Promise and Law applies to what you do in the Girl Scout Cookie Program as a businesswoman.

Available in August [UPC 09020 $1.15 retail]. Purchase at your local
council store or through www.girlscoutshop.com. This is the new
2011 cookie activity pin. Each year the pin is a different color.                                      

Town Delivery Order/Cookie Cupboards

Town Delivery
Troops must place a Town Delivery Order if they want to participate in any other money-earning activities (car washes, bake sale, ect).

January 21 at 10pm is the deadline for entering Town Delivery Orders into Quickbase, the cookie database. Do not wait until the last minute!

Cookies will be delivered on Febraury 8th at the VFW in Walpole.

Cookie Cupboards
Cookies must be reserved in QuickBase 5 days in advance of pick up date.

Unsold cookies must be returned within the 7 days of the pick up date. Only undamaged, resalable cookies are accepted.

Single box return are allowed
Troops that do not return cookies within the 7 days will be expected to pay for all the cookies received.

Assuming that no cookie will be returned from your order, you have a maximum of 14 days from pickup to submit payment.

Cupboards can also be used to pick up individual boxes. The same payment procedures apply to both full-case and individual box orders.

Cupboard hours: 
Each cupboard  has unique restraints, limitations and hours of  operation. Please respect the hours of the cupboards as many are not staffed outside of the posted times.

The troop may make multiple reservations, but each order must be completed with Full payment before anyone in the troop may take out the next order. NO EXCEPTIONS.

Everyone who picks up cookies at the cupboard must:
be listed as a troop contact in quickbase
show a valid photo id
know their troop #
spouses of the troop contacts must be listed separately. Email addresses and phone # are important for communication with cupboard.

Booth Sales
Booth sales begin on December 10. All sale activity must be completed by May 31.

There are two ways to procure cookies for your booth sale, by ordering with the town delivery order or by picking up at the cookie cupboard. To get booth sale cookies for your Town Delivery, simply add an extra girl to your troop called "troop booth sale" and order cookies under that name. There are no returns on Town Delivery cookies.

First Debit is March 15- Last Debit is March 25. Debits do not withdraw funds immediately; they are processed in batches starting March 15.

Your First Cookie Sale
Register. Cookies may only be sold by registered Girl Scouts who have signed an Annual Permission Form on file.
Attend the Service Unit Cookie Training. Both the Troop Leader/Advisor and Troop Cookie Advisor should attend.
Review the cookie sale material from your SU Cookie Manager. Set goals for yourself and your troop. Make note of all deadlines and important dates throughout the sale.

What's New in QuickBase-Cookie Sale 2011

Full QuickBase instruction for troop users will be available for download from the Welcome Page (formerly known as the Calendar Page). The link to the database from www.girlscoutseasternmass.org/cookies. 


New cookie sequence! You will notice on the order card and supplementary  materials that the sequence of the cookie has changed. Experiences troop volunteers should be extra careful when entering orders that the number is listed under the correct variety!

Registered girl names will be uploaded to Quickbase on December 1st. 


The "Troop Information" section shows many new fields, including whether the troop has earned the 100% participation award, thier per-girl average and opt-out status. When editing troop information, only troops with the Cadette, Senior or Ambassador PAL (Program Activity Level) will be able to change opt-out status.


The "Girl Information and Orders" section, there is a new link to "Add a Troop Round Up Order."Troops from SU that require full-case orders (e.g. those that have a Trailer Round delivery) can use this just like Service Units use the "Enter SU Round Up" link-but the round up (or down) order is assigned to their troop.


There is a new "Booth Sale Information" section to the troops can view the booth sales the have entered using the "Add Booth Sale Listing" link. 


Troops will now add banking information in the "Payment Information"  section (instead of "Troop Information"). 


The "Payment Information" section now shows the cost per box that the troop pays.

Cookie Delivery

Just a reminder for all the Walpole Cookie mom's. This Friday January 22nd, tomorrow is the due date for all the girls order form to be entered into the quick base system by 10 pm. Please give yourself enough time to do this. PLEASE if you don't have enough time to add every girl into the system please contact me or Maureen by email or by phone if you kicked out of the quick base system and you have not entered everyone. We have an additional 3 day after your due date to enter those girl that you could not enter in time. So we will need the girls name of the girl you could enter into the quick base system and then what is on the order form (cookies, and how many). Please notify us right away so we will have enough time to add those girls in.

If you have an issue with anything on this site - specifically time slots, locations, etc., as a courtesy, I would like to ask that you please email me directly.  I would prefer to address each question and or concern with cookie managers directly rather than seeing negative posts on this site or receiving negative messages without contact information.  

Remember, I am a new volunteer, coordinating several troops with limited information. If anyone would like to step in and help or just provide constructive feedback, I welcome it.

Bass Pro Shops

Bass Pro Shops Dates and Times are now available.  If you would like a slot, please let me know.  To be fair to everyone, each troop will be able to select one day/time slot.  If there are still openings after everyone has taken one day/time, a second opportunity will be available. I may also change the Saturday time slots so there are 2 shifts only.  This will give everyone approximately 4 hours instead of 3 hours. For tracking purposes, the contact at Bass Pro Shops Rich Nudd has asked that I indicate what town the troops are from.  Eventually, you will see the town after the troop number.

FYI - selling at Bass Pro shops this year is inside by the exit door.
